About Thriving Together

Thriving Together is a values-driven organisation founded by social care consultant Brett Campbell. It was directly developed from Brett’s Irish-based organisation, Concept 7, and represents the South African continuation and expansion of the professional frameworks, training models, and life skills programmes originally designed and delivered through Concept 7 in Ireland.

Concept 7 has, for many years, provided structured life skills programmes, practitioner training, and professional resources for individuals with additional support needs, families, and service providers. The success, depth, and practical impact of this work led to the establishment of Thriving Together as a dedicated organisation to deliver the same core philosophy, methodologies, and quality standards within a South African context, while remaining responsive to local communities and cultural realities.

Thriving Together is committed to working directly with families and to training people to become professional life skills practitioners. Its purpose is to empower people with additional support needs to live more independently, confidently, and meaningfully, using approaches that are neuro-affirmative, strengths-based, and grounded in real-world skill development.

Brett is a passionate advocate for neuro-affirmative and person-centred support. Through Concept 7, he has delivered extensive training and lectures on neurodivergence, intellectual disability, inclusive practice, and life skills development. Building on this foundation, he developed the Learn to Live Your Best Life™ programme, which was originally created within Concept 7 and now sits at the core of Thriving Together’s work.

Delivered by trained and qualified life skills practitioners, the programme offers personalised one-to-one and small-group coaching in the home, in the community, or online. Coaching is tailored to each person’s goals and strengths and supports essential everyday skills such as managing money, planning meals, navigating public transport, communicating effectively, making healthy choices, and building sustainable routines.

Thriving Together supports a wide range of individuals, including people with intellectual disabilities and neurodivergent individuals. The focus is never on changing who someone is, but on recognising capability, building confidence, and supporting practical independence on the individual’s own terms.

In addition to direct coaching, Thriving Together delivers family-focused life skills programmes, equipping parents, carers, and siblings with practical tools to support independence while reducing stress and pressure within the home. The organisation also provides professional training for support workers and organisations, drawing directly on the evidence-informed practice, materials, and frameworks developed through Concept 7 and refined through years of applied work.

Brett has authored numerous books and manuals on life skills development through Concept 7, many of which inform and underpin Thriving Together’s programmes and training. These resources translate professional knowledge into accessible, practical tools that support real learning and meaningful outcomes.

At Thriving Together, every aspect of the work is guided by compassion, respect, and a belief in the potential of each individual. Whether supporting someone to cook independently, navigate social situations, or travel confidently in their community, the focus is always on practical skills for everyday life.

Thriving Together is not a standalone initiative. It is the direct extension of Concept 7’s established work, carrying forward its values, expertise, and commitment to high-quality life skills support into a new setting. Together, these organisations reflect a shared vision: supporting individuals, families, and communities to grow, learn, and live their best lives.
